Over the past 8 years, my consulting work has supported federal and state governments, international development organizations,CSO/NGOs, and multinational corporations. I have worked across multiple different sectors on projects related to economics, public policy, and data.

▶ Selected past and current projects:

  • The World Bank: Consulted on a research project on the policy design of social transfer programmes and designing index-linking mechanisms to safeguard vulnerable communities in times of economic uncertainty.
  • Local state government: Worked with the state government of Johor on developing a comprehensive new state budget framework, integrating policy considerations and economic projections.
  • Google: Lead researcher on a project funded by a Google LLC grant, producing a comprehensive report on strengthening digitalization and digital trade in Malaysia.
  • Federal Government Ministries: Consulted on survey design and analysis for a full-scale survey conducted by a federal government ministry, focusing on microenterprises and entrepreneurship.
  • Local CSO networks: Undertook collaborative fieldwork and data collection with NGOs and CSOs as part of the research team for the All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPG) on 'Sustainable Development Goals' and 'Urban Poverty and B40'.
  • Ministry of Economy, Multidimensional Poverty Index: Served as a committee member for the Technical Working Group on Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) with the Malaysian Ministry of Economy,helping to consult on enhancing multidimensional measurements of deprivation.
